Access your medicalvideo files in your HIS

VideoMed is a Video Content Management that allows you to manage all the videos from medical devices and surgery recordings in one single place. It can be integrated with the PACS (Picture Archival and Communications System) and the HIS (Hospital Information System).

One of the difficulties when making a diagnostic nowadays is that medical video files can be scattered all over the hospital, residing in different imaging machines (ultrasound, CAT, MRI…), that do not have connectivity between them, because they are from different vendors and use different technologies. And this is where VideoMed Health steps in. All the medical video in the system can be integrated into the (EHR) Electronic Health Record of the patient, for future reference. Our platform provides, among other features:

  • Integration with any camera or recording system
  • Support of any video format
  • Integration with any HIS/RIS/PACS
  • Integration of video in the patient’s medical record
  • Centralization of all the medical videos
  • Easy access and search capabilities

VideoMed PACS

VideoMed PACS integrates seamlessly into any PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and HIS (Hospital Information System) and is able not only to ingest video from any source or medical imaging device, but also to show the videos in a web interface and even play them in a browser or directly in the PACS or HIS interfaces.

VideoMed PACS for OR recording

VideoMed PACS for OR recording is an Operating Room Video Manager that can record any surgery or intervention from multiple cameras, with voice control and Speech-to-text capabilities. These recordings can be used for training purposes, for research or even as evidence in cases of presumed malpractice.

Who will benefit from VideoMed Health?

Everyone in the hospital that comes into contact with medical imaging will benefit from having access to the videos recorded at the different radiology machines, as it means they can be seen directly in the HIS or PACS. But both radiologists and surgeons will benefit especially, because they will have everything at hand, in the same HIS screen they are used to, in order to do better and quicker diagnostics, with all the medical video at hand, without the need to go to the medical imaging device in person, to watch the recordings there.

The platform integrates with ease in any existing system and is able to comply with most regulations regarding confidential patient data treatment processing.

Radiologists

Having a centralized repository for medical video simplifies the daily work of the radiologist, as he/she can access all the different imaging materials at once, directly in the HIS.

Besides, highlights of the diagnostics can be extracted and added to the patient record for reference.

Surgeons

Surgeons can use VideoMed Health to access all of an patient’s medical video in the HIS to make a diagnostic or to prepare for an operation.

They can also review the recordings of the intervention and add extracts of them to the patient’s record in the HIS for the future.

How does VideoMed Health help any Hospital?

Video Recordings in HIS

Nowadays, in any diagnostic or Healthcare procedure there are is usually a lot of digital imaging involved. Modern diagnostics equipment, like MRI, Ultrasound or CAT scans provide digital video files in the DICOM format, which must be managed.

The problem is that different manufacturers may have different standards and there is no easy way to have all the files relevant to a patient’s case in the same place, to make an informed diagnostic.

VideoMed Health solves this by providing a central repository, connected and seamlessly integrated into the HIS/RIS or PACS system, in order to allow access to any medical video files, for any patient, at any time, directly in the HIS, from any place. There is no more need of going to individual machines to watch images or videos locally. Get all the patient imaging information at your desk. Right now.

Easy integration with any PACS/HIS/RIS

VideoMed Health can be easily integrated with any commercial PACS, HIS/RIS solution, to provide its search, retrieval and visualization services. No changes in the PACS or HIS are necessary. A simple image forwarding and the display of our web widget is enough. We will take care of the rest.

Surgery Recording with privacy

The system can be controlled via touch-screens or voice commands in the OR and has the ability to manage several camera feeds at once, to document the intervention perfectly. No videos will leave the hospital if you don't want to.

Video in the patient record in your HIS

VideoMed Health shows any medical video file directly in your HIS via our own web widget, with no additional software needed. Everything in just one screen, for your convenience.

Success story

Read our success story with the Hospital Clínic in Barcelona, where we have succesfully implemented VideoMed Health. In its first phase, the current installation at Hospital Clínic manages large volumes of audiovisual information, photos and documents in different formats and languages.

  • Content is incorporated from different sources.
  • The system indexes and catalogs the content to simplify and speed up searches.
  • Granular documentation is created at the video, clip or brand level, with custom metadata fields.
  • VideoMed Health allows video to be stored in different qualities to optimize resources, depending on archiving needs.
  • It supports process automation and monitoring through task-specific dashboards.

Currently there are more than 3,000 recordings stored in VideoMed Health and we are working on the evolution of the system, to Phase 2.
